Steven and I were hiding behind the corner, waiting for that asshole-Mathias to step out of the classroom. He was always the first one to leave, so we were convinced that he would step out of the classroom at any given moment. We were so close to pulling our best prank so far and it was worth skipping our class, hands down. If only Mathias would step out of the classroom before Steven or I lose our patience. “What’s taking so long? It’s ten o’clock, their class should have ended already”, Steven whispered, peeking at the door from behind the corner. I was taller, so I was hovering over him and peeking too. “He is going to come out soon”, I assured him. “We have done our homework, this is going to be epic!” And then the door opened and someone stepped out, got their faces stuck on a cling film filled with wet mayonnaise and feathers. As the person stumbled forward, they slipped on the oil we had put on the ground and fell on their butt. Don’t ask how we got oil, it’s top secret. Students came out of the classroom and laughed as they saw the persons face filled with feathers and mayonnaise and we stepped from behind the corner and everyone started clapping at us and we bowed, but then I saw him. Mathias was standing with the students. “Steve”, I whispered. “If Mathias is there, who...” “Oh, shit”, Steve whispered. The person who had fallen on their butt stood up, wiped their face and revealed it was our teacher, Mr. Backwood. “OH, SHIT!” we yelled in unison as his eyes caught us and everyone behind him was suddenly dead silent. “STEVE SWAN AND DERRICK COLEMAN!” Mr. Backwood yelled and started running towards us. We were quick to turn around, split up and run away as fast as we could. I saw Steve disappearing behind another corner and heard Mr. Backwood’s steps behind me. Great, he had decided to follow me. “Shit, shit, shit, shit.” I ran, turned from the corners and sped up along one hallway to the other. The perks of being in the boarding school? It was big enough to get lost in there, or in this case, make someone else get lost. The downside of being in the boarding school? There wasn’t many places one could hide from a teacher. When I couldn’t run anymore, I tried the closest door and as the door opened and I realised it wasn’t locked, I stepped inside, closed the door and leaned my head against it breathing heavily. “Are you here for the LGBT meeting?” Fuck, I thought as I slowly turned around and realised I wasn’t, in fact, in an empty classroom. Quite the opposite actually. The classroom was full of students, sitting in one giant circle in the middle of the classroom. In the middle of the circle stood a boy who had asked the question from me. I had the words nope, Imma just jump out of the window, thanks on the tip of my tongue when I really saw the boy standing in the middle of the circle. He had dark skin, long-ish dark curly hair and the biggest eyes I had ever seen. He looked like he had seen a ghost, that’s how big his eyes were. He was the most adorable person I had ever seen. “So, are you gay or not?” someone form the circle yelled. I leaned my back against the door, crossed my arms and stared at the leader boy in the middle of the circle dead in the eye. “I might be”, I said and smirked at him.
